2011 New Years Chronicle!
by Stuff on Dec.31, 2011, under Rock'n'roll stuff, Stuff blogs
Thought we could give you an update here at the blog just to show you that we ain’t dead or something like that. Most of you probably follow us at facebook, and then you know that we’re still going strong. But anyhow, we would like to close this year (2011) with our thoughts ’bout what we see as highlights for this year in the Clan.
Bedlam says:
One of the highlights for me this year was definitely having The Rock re-join the band, more ferociously eager to rock out than ever before. I love having his twisted sense of musicality to bounce off on. Stand-out moments were the show at Mejeriet in March (I think most of us agree on that) and the second set we did at the release party of the new album, at the same venue. Those were amazing shows to be a part of. And there were many others..
We finally got our own rehearsal space this past summer and that really enabled us to focus more on writing songs. That was a big one for me.
All in all, a great year…let’s make 2012 even better! Dig it!
Maniac states:
There has been a lot of fantastic moments in Killer Clan of F.U.N. 2011. We almost filled Mejeriet in Lund together with Michael Machine and Crazy Lixx. We kicked dust and roared like a hurricane at Skogsröjet and met a good part of Swedish rockbands there. This has been the worst year in my life on a personal level. At the same time it has been the year for Killer Clan of F.U.N. to release an album that I am very proud of.
Through the twisted times that I now try to survive it has become clear to me what a fantastic creative environment theese guys are and I have heard and been a part of the embryo for the best collection of songs ever come from this part of the world, and with a lot of anger, love, pain and hard work – this will be a great new album next year… From here it can only get better, and even if we are searching for a drummer at the moment I am confident that next year will sparkle, pop and crack like a teenage girl on snowballs. Come whatever may.
The Rock claims:
There have been alot of great times this year with and around the band, awesome gigs, parties, people and rock’n'roll!
But the highlight for me is to be part of the Killer Clan again, recording and learning all the kick ass songs for The World Of Voodoo!
Stuff points out:
Man, it’s really hard to choose a highlight this year. Seems like we’ve done a million things this year. But there’s one gig that’s really fresh in my mind. The very last gig we did this year has a special place in my heart. It felt like we had gained new energy all off us, we felt dangourus and how we all worked as a team on stage got us spurred to go the extra mile on stage! Although it were colder than last known ice age and you could litterally cut ice on my nipples and your fingers couldn’t be more stiff. Remember talkin’ to Bedlam after the gig sayin’ his solos were just like playing the same tone over and over because of the stiffness in his fingers. Although all of this we got a great reaction from the crowd in Landskrona. This city feels like another home for us now!
From us all to you rockers out there; Have a fuckin awesome New Years Eve and an even better 2012!
From the playlist….

The Rock was talking to Stuff about some square-shaped guitar the other night at rehearsal. Don’t really know what the coversation was about, but it reminded me of Bo Diddley and his trademark guitar. I always have at least a couple of Bo-songs on my playlists and this is one of my favourites.
LaVern Baker – “Voodoo Voodoo”
When we decided on the title for the album I started checking out “voodoo-songs” by different artists. Of course there’s all those great Screamin’ Jay Hawkins songs, but a little further along in my search I came across this gem by LaVern Baker. “He done voodoo doodoo-ed me!”
Mötley Crüe – Same Ol’ Situation
Mötley‘s finest hour. It’s kind of like their “You Shook Me All Night Long” in my mind. I always get a kick out of the video to it too.
Went to a Taj Mahal concert the other week. Been listening to him for a long time and it was truly a treat to get to see one the last great bluesmen up close. It was an amazing show.
Outside of the blues Taj has a whole list of musical genres on his repertoire and Johnny Too Bad is of course the classic reggae song by The Slickers. The original has nothing on Taj’s version though. Love the line “Struttin’ up from shanty town with a pistol in your waist – Johnny you’re too bad” just as the song fades out. Makes you wonder what happens next…

Sentimental Stuff
by Stuff on Nov.17, 2011, under Stuff blogs
I just wanted to say that we may have gone a bit too far here at the blog ’bout our new songs we’re writing. All I can say ’bout them is that they are way ahead into the future. Right now we just wanna promote our newly released cd “The World Of Voodoo”. I am pretty pleased by the outcome of it acctually.
I remember it as yesterday when were in the recording-progress. Although it felt like a neverending project at the time, and the money we spent it at, man, I surely lived on water and air back then. But just to hold the cd in my hands now makes me a bit proud of myself, and my teammates in the Clan ofcourse. Without them I wouldn’t be where I am today as a guitarist and musician.
That´s pretty much all I have to say for now, hope y’all like it as much as I do!

That’s a pretty odd thing to do, but since we released the new cd “The World Of Voodoo” I’ve been checking the net for any new articles/blogs you name it. Really fun to read about what others think about the music. I can’t say that everybody loves it, but somehow I kinda like reading bad reviews as good ones.
Not saying that we’ve only gotten bad reviews! Most of them have been good. But still fun to read, my main objective was and have always been to get a reaction out of people.
Tonight we’re off to rehearse, can’t wait to get out there cause we’re just about to write some new material!
Yours truly! / Stuff
“The World of Voodoo” – liftoff!!!
by Pär on Aug.27, 2011, under Maniacisms and Poetry, News
Today it’s August 27th which means graduation day for our naughty child “The World of Voodoo”. Ten tracks we hope will take you on a rock n’ roll adventure you want to experience again and again.
We hope to see you at tonight’s release party where the band will play the album from the start to the end. There will also be an acoustic session earlier in the evening and more surprises. And everyone will get a “The World of Voodoo”-CD.
For those of you who can’t make it, we’ve made the album available everywhere (well almost…):
On our music page you can see the options if you’d like to download it, order a CD or maybe a beautiful T-shirt.
It’s also available on Spotify, on Itunes, on Amazon, on Soundcloud and a bunch of other places. Your choice. If you want it any other way just tell us and we’ll do our best. We’ll even mail you the album if need be.
Let’s start the journey:
If you like to read press releases, here’s one in Swedish and one in English.

The release in danger? – Big fight between the band and the label!
by Pär on Aug.25, 2011, under Bio, Live
The atmosphere was thunderous today in the rehearsal room, as I met the band a couple of hours ago. They had just received a letter (you know, a snail mail), where the label threatened to postpone the release of “The World of Voodoo”!
The reason for this seemed to be that the band is handing out CD:s to everyone at the release party on Saturday, for free. And the label want their share.
- They can have their share alright!!!, Maniac boomed.
- 80% right? And they will have their 80%…out of nothing, he said with a grim smile on his face.
He got more and more agitated, walking around the room, shouting some sentences I don’t really want to translate here. Suddenly he stopped and said slowly:
- I can tell you. NOTHING comes between us and our fans! NOTHING! Get that?
He picked up a bunch of papers that was lying on a chair and held them up in the air:
- This is the contract with the label. I think you should give it back to them…
And he started to tear the pages apart. Since it was 200 pages or so, he was quickly joined by the others, giving him a hand with the tearing and tossing. Especially 3B seemed to be enjoying the drill, as he said it reminded him of the good days in school.
5 minutes later, the contract was in shreds. Maniac shoved most of the thousands of small pieces of paper in a bucket, opened a can of beer and poured the contents in the bucket.
- Here, take it to the label, he said. There will be a release party, no matter what. It’s all in our own hands, hahaha.
As usual I had to try to fix things, so I went over to the record label, and met with one of the executives (he wanted to be anonymous, if I were to write the story).
- Well, I can tell you that the contract is quite clear about this. I know it by heart and on page 143, paragraph 246d it clearly says….
I stopped him, muttered something about the contract and pointed at the bucket.
- Haha, do they really think it’s that easy, he said calmly. We do live in a digital age, and ripping some signed papers apart won’t help you. We have a special department for this and with their modern methods they glue this contract to one piece again, in no time.
- And how long will that take?
- Well, normally I’d say a couple of weeks, as with normal bands. But normal bands don’t pour beer over their shredded contracts, so let’s say a month.
- But then the release party is over?
- Yes I know, but then they will have to undo it.
- Undo it? How?
-We have our methods. For example, we can confiscate all images, video clips and sound recordings from the party. And if there’s no evidence left, it didn’t happen. Hahaha…
After this last statement I left the building, leaving the executive laughing behind me. I’m sure we will hear more about this later on, but for now I’m satisfied that the party on Saturday is on, no matter what.
