The highlights from my first year

by on Feb.24, 2011, under Stuff blogs

Like I promised earlier this week I will reveal some highlights from this year with the rest of Clan. ”Highlights” might not be the right word for it, it’s more like cool memories/feelings that I will treasure for a long time. Here we go!

The first memory with the Clan is without a doubt the first weekend that I shared with the crazy fuckups on the road. First we played at Mejeriet in Lund, the other day we were to play in Stockholm at Harry B James. I was so above the clouds thinkin’ that I was some kind of hero. From a being a boy living out in nowhere, I came straight into the big cities, playing in big places and I were to conquer the world anytime.

When we did this gig I had just rehearsed a few times with the Clan, and I actually thought that the other members were a bit fucked up, but who cared? I would become a rockstar anytime, my dream would come true. The whole band were(and still are) very poor so we had to drive to Stockholm in my car since I were the only one with a drivers licence and a car. We were packed like sardines. If you don’t believe me just send Bedlam an e-mail. We had quite fun and we bonded well this weekend. I can go on and on about this weekend but I will not. I’ll save it for out forthcoming bandbiography…

Another great memory was when we hit Stockholm for the 3rd time, we were to play at Stockholm Rock Out. A festival that had a lot of ”hairbands”. We saw/met many rockstars, many of which I had read about in musicmagazines when I was just a little boy. Now I stood face to face with them and could actually talk to a lot of them, I did not have the courage to talk to all of them cause I were so starstruck. Next time I see them again I will for surely greet them good.

The last memory I will share with you is about the first weekend we began recording on our upcoming album, which still not have a name. We were only to record the drums somewhere outside of Kävlinge(if my memory serves me right). The first day the engineer had a lot of troubles with the equipment which totally fucked my mind saying we were not being able to finish our work with the drums this weekend. To get me in a better mood I decided to take my car and drive straight towards Skåne to crash a party with some friends. And I might had a little to much. One hour of sleep, then get up, drive back home to pick up some things then to hit Lund to pick up Bedlam and co. I couldn’t have been sober, which Bedlam thought when being in the car and he wanted to exit and travel by bus. But I didn’t let him off the hook. We got back to the studio, recorded the drums. I also remember falling alseep in the control room that day and being woke by 3B making a joke of me and recording it with his cellphone.

I will also like to add that I really grew fond of these dudes along the way this year, I don’t consider them as bandmates anymore, more like good friends, almost like family! Killer Clan for life!

The Anniversary of Stuff!

by on Feb.21, 2011, under Stuff blogs

I’ve now been a member of this band for a bit over a year now. And it feels just awesome! I still see me as the least skillfull member in the band, but under this year I’ve really grown as a musician. The others are just genius at their instruments.

How did I get involved with the Clan you ask? I think that I just got unemployed and wanted something fun to do for a change and I scanned the net for several bands looking for a guitarist, I didn’t found anything interesting so I created an ad. A few days later a man named Bedlam wrote me an e-mail and wanted me to come and play with them as I had wrote that my style in playing was a bit like Joe Perry from Aerosmith, later I found out that Aerosmith was one of Bedlams favourite bands of all time. (I don’t know how much of that is true, that me style in playing feels like Joe Perry though…)

I got to the audition, to cover up my lack in playing guitar I remember that I dressed up as a true rocker and when I played with them I jumped around and tried to do what I do on stage. Obviously it worked out and I got the job, we had a few gigs but I didn’t saw me as a member until a few months after the first gig.

The funny thing is that I thought of appliying for Crazy Lixx about a year before but I didn’t do it ’cause I  didn’t thought I had the guts to play in front of so many people . And now we will be sharing stage with the very same band in just about a few weeks.

If you check back in a few days I will be revealing some highlights from this year…

We’re back at Ariman to choose yor favourite music!

by on Feb.17, 2011, under Stuff blogs

Tonite we will be hittin’ Ariman in Lund to play your favourite rocktunes! Hope to see everyone there, Me and Maniac will be there all night, and I beleive that both The Rock and 3B will join us to chat and have a drink with us all. Sadly Bedlam can’t join us due to working on our kickass-motherfucker-blow your speakers to hell-album, there might also be the chance that he is recovering from a cold that has spawned recently.

When we’re DJ’ing we try to play some music from local bands, I’ve got some music from both Sticky Dirt and Michael Machine in which I attend to play, I hope that some crazy rockers from Damien and Godass will show up with some cds we can play. If you have a cd with music from your band, don’t hesitate to show up and give us it and we will play it!

Back from the studio…

by on Feb.13, 2011, under Studio update, Stuff blogs

This sunday we were back in the studio to continue the work on our cd. Backup vocals were on the agenda this time. We had hired some friends to help us with it, Michelle Maas from Damien and a very talented guy named Richard Kvist. And I was totally blown away by their awesomeness, they did most of the tracks on the first takes which was very impressive. They did backing vocals for most of our songs, so next time we’ll be hitting the studio it’s mine and Bedlams turn to do some backingvocals. Which frightens me a bit, I’m not as certain as our friends…

Bleed it out!

by on Feb.07, 2011, under Studio update, Stuff blogs

My fingers they keep on bleeding. This weekend I have been working at home meanwhile the others have been in the studio and completed both the lead vocals and the bass have been laid down on every track now. Then you might wonder what I’ve been doing at home and why my fingers bleeds and hurts like hell. That’s because I’ve been writing my soloparts for the album. And the worst part is that I am far from being done…
You will definitely hear which songs I am playing the solos on, that’s pretty much all I can tell you now.

For the next weekend we aim on recording some backing vocals with some special guests. I can now expose to the world that the very talented Michelle Maas from Damien will be singing her heart out in most of our songs. I’ll be taking some pictures in the studio to show you all later of course!

Steady as a Rock!

by on Feb.05, 2011, under Maniacisms and Poetry

Half of the songs has got new bass tracks. Tomorrow we aim to do the rest. The rock is a steady mofo. Almost chocking cool, he has invested in a piece of Rock weaponry that literally will blow your minds!

Say hello to the bass!

Getting closer…

by on Feb.04, 2011, under Bedlam speaks, Studio update

Just got back from spending the evening in the studio with Maniac and 3B.

Happy to say that lead vocals for the album are 100% done.
3B even had time to put down some percussion on the song “I’m Dead”.

The last I saw of them they were heading off into the rainy night, level of intoxication steadily increasing, to crash some unkown party neither of them knew the way to.

They had Maniac’s little brother in tow though, to keep them in line.
Guess I will find out how the night ended next time I see them.

Me, I’m off to bed. Meeting up with The Rock later this weekend to finish the bass tracks. Looking forward to that. /Bedlam

You’re kinda stuck with me now…

by on Feb.04, 2011, under Stuff blogs

Just as I’ve said before we’re working our asses off both on and off the Killer Clan train. So we have done some changes in what we work with, I now have the biggest reponsibility for this blog. So you will mostly see updates from me here, not said it’s only me, sometimes the others will let you in on some secrets too. I have some idees that I am developing for you to read about in the near future. Some of these are:

1. Right now I’m interviewing our crew so we can introduce them to you here and let you know what they do.

2. I will continue to complete my top ten album list of all time.

3. Let you know whats happening i the studio.
